A homeowner in Ferefad Longford asked me to call and give my opinion on why they were having so many draw and smoke problems, with their stove/chimney, I discovered that the stove had been connected to the masonry chimney with a section of flexi flue directly off the back of the stove , literally just sitting into the stove collar with a long horizontal travel and curved almost to a 90 degree. I had no option but to condemn the installation. As you can see from the image the stove did not have proper combustible distances to the front. As our finished image shows we created a large alcove, set the stove back and connected it to a 904 grade flexi flue and insulated.
